A fire broke out in the landfill near Tsalapitsa, it has covered about 15-16 decares. There are five fire brigade teams on the spot, reports Nova TV. The wind blows in the direction of Stamboliyski and Kadievo. There is no danger to nearby settlements for now.
According to eyewitnesses, the element of fire is in the center of the landfill, from where the pipe passes, bringing the methane formed from below to the surface. The landfill itself also has a fire protection system. A team of RISV - Plovdiv is also traveling to the depot.
Earlier it became clear that the big fire at a waste processing plant in Plovdiv destroyed the entire plant. Two firefighters were injured while extinguishing the huge flames.
There is no air pollution, nor exceeding the permissible norms, assure the eco inspection.
The plant owner declined to comment. The district prosecutor's office in Plovdiv has started an investigation.
