A 57-year-old man drowned in the "Dyakovo" dam. near Dupnitsa, BNT reported.
The man went swimming in the waters of the dam yesterday afternoon, but suddenly felt sick and disappeared from the surface.
A signal was given on phone 112. The body of the drowned man was transported to the Kyustendil hospital for an autopsy. A pre-trial proceeding has been initiated in the case and the prosecutor on duty has been notified.
Bathing and riding jets in the dam is prohibited, but the prohibitions are not respected.
