Beijing, which topped last year's ranking, fell to fourth position. The main reason for this is the slowdown of the Chinese economy. The first place is now for New York, where 119 billionaires live. London is in second place with 97 billionaires, and Mumbai in third position with 92 billionaires, according to Hurun Global Rich List data.
This year's data, compared to last year's, show that all Chinese cities have lost billionaires and are therefore lower in the rankings.
Nationally, half of the billionaires in the ranking live in the US and China. 50% of the world's 3,200 billionaires live there.
The ranking can also serve as the cities with the most expensive properties. New York and London are always in the TOP 5 of the world rankings for the most expensive apartments, along with Hong Kong, which is always in the first position. In terms of billionaires, the city in question ranks 7th in this year's ranking.
