The new Toyota RAV4 enters Europe

This is the sixth generation of the bestseller

One of the best-selling crossovers in the world - the Toyota RAV4 - is about to renew its dominance in the European market. The sixth generation of the model is already in the process of accepting pre-orders in a number of countries, and the official start of sales is expected early next year, reports Motor.es.

The new RAV4 makes its European debut with a focus on hybrid technology, which is a trademark of Toyota. Initially, the model will be offered with a 2.5-liter hybrid unit. Customers will be able to choose between a front-wheel drive version with 183 horsepower, whose starting price is 45,200 euros, and a more powerful 4x4 version with 191 hp, starting at 47,700 euros.

The big news for 2026, however, is the expansion of the range with two extremely attractive plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variants. These modifications will offer more power and significantly greater autonomous electric range.

The PHEV versions are expected to be offered with front-wheel drive (268 hp) and all-wheel drive (304 hp). The most impressive thing here is the battery with a capacity of 22.68 kWh, which according to the manufacturer will allow a range of up to 100 km on electricity alone. This achievement positions the new RAV4 as one of the leaders in the segment in terms of pure electric mobility.

Toyota does not skimp on equipment even in its basic versions. The 2026 RAV4 comes with a seriously expanded standard equipment package, which includes 18-inch wheels, a fully digital cockpit with two 12-inch screens, keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, parking sensors, a reversing camera and the full range of Toyota Safety Sense safety systems.

For those looking for a sportier look and premium comfort, there is the RAV4 GR Sport version. It starts at 55,700 euros and is only available with all-wheel drive. The top model includes 20-inch wheels, genuine leather upholstery, a premium JBL sound system, 360-degree cameras, electrically adjustable seats, front ventilation and a full heating package (seats and steering wheel), as well as an electric tailgate.

With this combination of hybrid efficiency, impressive electric range and rich technological equipment, the new Toyota RAV4 looks set to continue being the benchmark in the compact SUV class.
