The 10 most reliable used German cars

The ranking was compiled by the topspeed portal

German automotive has long become a benchmark for quality, but when it comes to the second-hand market, the choice can be a real minefield. Experts from the popular portal topspeed.com decided to bring clarity by ranking the ten most stable used cars from Germany that will not ruin their owners with endless repairs. The results are unequivocal: if you are looking for uncompromising durability, Stuttgart is your place.

The undisputed leader in the ranking is the Porsche 911

We are talking about the specimens from the 2015 model year, which achieve an impressive score of 94 out of 100 possible reliability points. This iconic athlete proves that high performance can go hand in hand with longevity. Immediately after it are the "little brothers" of the same family - the Porsche 718 Boxster (2021) with 93 points and the Porsche 718 Cayman (2023), which closes the honorable three with a score of 90 points. Apparently, Porsche engineers have discovered the secret of eternal youth in metal components.

The Bavarian giant BMW also shows serious muscle in the ranking

The fourth position is for the compact BMW 1 Series from 2013, which surprises with a high score of 89 points, proving itself to be a tough player in urban conditions. A little further back, with a tied score of 88 points, are the business sedan BMW 5 Series (2022) and the newer BMW 2 Series from 2020. These models manage to balance modern technology with mechanics that do not betray their owner at the first cold snap.

The prestigious top ten also includes classic representatives from Mercedes and Audi

The legendary E-Class (Mercedes-Benz E-Class) from 2012 confirms its reputation as an “unkillable” car with 87 points, while the C-Class from 2014 remains slightly behind with 86. The honor of Ingolstadt is defended by the Audi A4 (2013) and Audi A6 (2017), which demonstrate stability and solid assembly even years after leaving the showroom. This ranking is a clear reminder that with proper maintenance, the German machine can be faithful long after its warranty has expired.
