The Chinese offensive intensifies even more with the BYD Atto 3 Evo, which attacks Europe

The updated electric crossover arrives with dramatically higher performance, a larger battery and twice as fast charging

The Chinese technology giant BYD is not just refreshing its bestseller, but literally rewriting the rules in the affordable electric segment. The new BYD Atto 3 Evo, which is now ready for its European market, comes with the ambition to overshadow the competition not with cosmetic changes, but with a brutal upgrade under the hood. While visually the crossover retains its modern and athletic silhouette, under the “skin” It now has a completely new 800-volt architecture, which launches the model into a new technological league.

The biggest surprise lies in the drivetrain - the base model now has rear-wheel drive, which promises far more dynamic behavior on the road. With its 313 hp, it accelerates to 100 km/h in an impressive 5.5 seconds. For those looking for real “sticking“ to the seat, the top version with four-wheel drive is provided. It has a power of 449 hp. and sprints to “hundreds“ in just 3.9 seconds – indicators, typical until recently only for high-end sports coupes. Well, if the price remains so competitive, European manufacturers will have a serious reason for insomnia!

Practicality has also been raised to a new pedestal. Thanks to the more compact suspension and the new Blade battery with a capacity of 74.9 kWh, the crossover now offers a range of up to 510 km (WLTP). But the real joker is the charging speed – the battery can be filled to 80% in just 25 minutes. The interior welcomes us with the familiar 15.6-inch rotating display, but now the space has been used more wisely. You now have an additional 101-liter front trunk (“frunk“) for cables, and the rear volume has grown to 490 liters. The BYD Atto 3 Evo doesn't just change, it evolves into a machine that is hard to ignore.
