The name of the new model is Leapmotor C16

The Leapmotor company, whose cars will start to be sold in our country, in addition very recently, and whose partner is the Stellantis concern, launched a new hybrid crossover called C16. As for the dimensions, the crossover measures 4,915 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width and 1,770 mm in height, with a 2,825 mm wheelbase. For comparison, we will say that the model is 94 mm shorter than the Kia EV9 and has a 274 mm shorter wheelbase.

The interior is characterized by a minimalist design, except for the digital instrument panel, "floating" infotainment system and leather steering wheel. Already at the basic level, the six-seater electric car is equipped with a dual-zone climate system and a 15 W wireless smartphone charger.

For an additional fee, buyers will get tri-zone climate control, as well as heated and ventilated seats in the first and second rows. Customers can also get a premium audio system with 21 speakers, a 15.6-inch rear-row entertainment system and an intelligent driver assistance system that uses a lidar sensor.

The car is powered by a 1.5-liter engine that serves as a generator to charge a battery with a capacity of 28.4 kWh and a rear-mounted electric motor with a capacity of 228 hp. The electric installation allows the crossover to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds and travel up to 200 km on electricity alone.

Customers can also get an all-electric variant that has a 67.7kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery. It is equipped with an updated engine that produces 288 hp. and 360 Nm of torque. An electric car can accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds. In addition, drivers will be able to travel up to 520 km on a single charge of the battery. The price of the hybrid version starts at €19,700 and the electric model starts at €20,500.
