Not everyone knows that there was a moment in the history of the Czech company Jawa, when it produced not only motorcycles, but also sports cars. Now the Czechs have decided to revive one of their four-wheeled models.
In the 1930s, Jawa produced several sports cars at once. In particular, they created the Minor roadster and the Jawa 750 coupe. It was the latter model that they decided to revive now.
A total of six Jawa 750 coupes from 1935 were produced, and only one such car has survived to this day. For its time, the model was innovative - it had front-wheel drive, and well-thought-out aerodynamics allowed it to reach 120 km/h with a modest 26-horsepower engine.
Now Jawa has introduced a series of retro-style motorcycles, and Czech designer Rostislav Prokop has developed the new Jawa 750 coupe. The sports car is based on the BMW Z4, but has front-wheel drive, like its famous ancestor.
The Jawa 750 has inherited some features from the 1935 model. It has a similar grille design and a split rear window. At the same time, modern elements appear, such as slim LED headlights and taillights.
The new Jawa 750 gets a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with 270 hp. The sports car is available with a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission.
