13 flaws and BG prices of the first Opel Insignia

The first generation suffers the most from problems with electronics

Automotive experts from Germany emphasize the main flaws of the first generation Opel Insignia model. According to them, most of the failures are related to electrical and electronic components.

The seat heating, adaptive headlights, window regulators, side mirror motors, horn, trunk lock and central locking are often damaged.

The bulbs burn out often, and the main computer very often does not work properly. “However, electronics are usually easily repaired by reprogramming“, experts note.

The most common engines are two-liter diesel engines with a turbine. However, after only 80 thousand kilometers, the timing mechanisms and the fuel pump are damaged, and defects in the piston-cylinder group are also common.

Among the advantages, auto experts highlight the rich basic equipment, the good anti-corrosion resistance of the body and excellent handling. But they also say something else that should not be ignored - to avoid versions with automatic transmissions.

The first generation of the Opel Insignia, which has an internal factory index G09, was produced in the period 2008 - 2017, and there are quite a few copies of the model sold in our country. At what prices - see HERE.
