BMW has revealed yet another new concept car at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in Italy. After last year's debut of the Skytop convertible and the earlier Concept Touring Coupe, BMW has now shown the Concept Speedtop for 2025.

This new concept is a station wagon that draws design ideas from last year's Skytop. It shares the same base platform and is distinguished by a similar V-shaped front end with a “shark nose“ shape, as well as a comparable light design and illuminated radiator grille. The main difference is the Speedtop station wagon's bodywork, which provides significantly more storage space. The car's roof has a color gradient that changes from “Floating Sunstone Maroon“ at the front to “Floating Sundown Silver“ at the rear. A distinctive design line, or “spline“, runs from the engine hood, across the roof and onto the spoiler. The wheels are custom-made, two-tone, 14-spoke wheels specific to this concept.

Inside, the Speedtop has a two-tone leather interior in “Sundown Maroon“ and “Moonstone White“, with some exterior accents in “Floating Sunstone Maroon“. The “spline“ design element from the exterior is also reflected inside, appearing as a projected light on the dashboard. The trunk area is designed with a divided luggage compartment and includes specially fitted Schedoni bags.

BMW has confirmed that the Concept Speedtop will go into production. While no specific details have been released, the company says it will use its most powerful V8 engine to date. This will likely be the same 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 found in the Skytop, which produces 625 hp. BMW plans to produce 70 units of the Speedtop for select customers. The price has not been announced, but it is expected to be high.

BMW's Bernd Körber indicated that the positive reaction to the Skytop influenced the decision to produce it in limited quantities and expects a similar reception for the 70 Speedtop units that are now available for order. This approach shows BMW's interest in creating special, high-performance cars for a specific group of buyers.
