BMW decided to play on the strings of nostalgia and remind fans what the real “five“ was like. The special series BMW 540i xDrive Legacy Edition is dedicated to the legendary generation E34 - a sedan that in the late 80s and early 90s became a true symbol of style, speed and a little dangerous charm.
In Bulgaria, this model is also remembered and loved. It is true that in the 90s of the last century, not everyone liked it - more often people were afraid of its owners than they admired them. But over the years, when the passions subsided, the E34 began to be treated with warmth, as a car that personifies its era and has a special, almost hooligan character.
The new special version of the Legacy Edition will be released in a limited series - only 151 copies. The car combines modern technologies and respect for traditions. Under the hood is a 3.0-liter in-line turbo engine with a capacity of 380 hp, which provides acceleration to a hundred in 4.7 seconds. All-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission make driving more confident, and the Bowers & Wilkins with 18 speakers promises incredible sound.
Against the background of its predecessor E34, the new product looks more massive: the length has been increased from 4,720 to 5,060 mm, the wheelbase from 2,761 to 2,995 mm. But it is precisely this difference between generations that is clearly shown in BMW's photo shoot: the sky-blue new product next to the classic E34 from the same range looks like a dialogue between the past and the present.
What makes it even more attractive is the fact that there is no longer a regular 540i, but only the weaker 530i xDrive or the heavy plug-in hybrids. The Legacy Edition is a real treat for fans willing to pay for exclusivity and a piece of the 90s spirit.
