According to an analysis by ADAC experts, some models stand out for their durability and can withstand significant mileage without major repairs. Here are six crossovers that will not disappoint you, even after 200,000 kilometers.
Subaru Forester
The third-generation Subaru Forester models (2007-2012) surprise with their excellent off-road capabilities. Their all-wheel drive system, which is either permanent drive with a center differential (for manual transmission) or with a multi-plate clutch (for automatic), is extremely reliable. In the automatic version, the clutch can last over 200,000 km with proper operation. In the mechanical version, the viscous coupling is slightly less durable, but with good maintenance it still provides reliability.
Volkswagen Tiguan
The first-generation Tiguan relies on a Haldex clutch for its all-wheel drive. Although it is front-wheel drive by default, the system quickly transfers torque to the rear axle when needed. To maintain its reliability, it is recommended to change the oil and filter more often than prescribed by the manufacturer - at least every 30,000 km.
