As part of the 19th package of anti-Russian sanctions, the European Union wants to ban European companies from investing in special economic zones (SEZs) in Russia, Politico reported, citing a draft proposal for restrictive measures.

According to the publication, the EU also wants to ban companies from reinsuring Russian ships and aircraft for 5 years after their sale. European companies may also be banned from doing business with ports located outside the European Union, “if they are used to sell military equipment, such as missiles, or to circumvent the oil price ceiling set by the G-7“, the publication notes.
