The „Kalashnikov“ Concern has delivered to a customer MP-155 smoothbore rifles, modernized for more effective anti-drone capabilities, according to the concern's Telegram channel.
The Izhevsk Mechanical Plant (OJSC IMZ, Concern „Kalashnikov“) has fulfilled a contract for the supply of MP-155 self-loading rifles in an anti-drone version to a customer. „Due to its characteristics, the MP-155 is actively used along the line of contact and has become one of the most popular products for combating drones in the SVO zone“, the statement said.
This variant is with Picatinny rail on the receiver, high-capacity magazine (6 rounds of 12x76 mm caliber) and comes with a case and holsters. The rifle can be equipped with both a dot sight and a night vision device, which makes this version ideal for shooting at moving targets at any time of the day.
This version of the rifle was developed at the IMZ and presented at the “Army-2024“ forum. The product is based on the MP-155 smooth-bore semi-automatic hunting rifle with a caliber of 12/89. The rifle provides high firepower and can be effectively used with 12-gauge ammunition weighing 28 grams or more.
„In 2025, IMZ significantly increased the production of the popular semi-automatic rifle MP-155. The company managed to increase production volumes through enhanced development and improved production technologies“, noted Mikhail Melnikov, Managing Director of IMZ JSC.
