The Chinese authorities will impose temporary anti-subsidy measures on dairy products from the European Union on December 23, the Ministry of Commerce announced.

According to the published statement, this decision was made based on the results of an investigation conducted by the Chinese government on August 21, 2024. When importing the relevant goods from the EU, companies will be required to provide a compensation deposit to Chinese customs.

The Ministry of Commerce also published a list of companies supplying dairy products from the EU and the ad valorem anti-subsidy rate applicable to them. Based on the decision, their products will be subject to additional taxes ranging from 21.9% to 42.7%.
