US artificial intelligence (AI) startups will raise a record $150 billion in 2025 amid growing concerns about a decline in interest in the latest technologies, the Financial Times (FT) reported.

The previous peak was reached in 2021, when $92 billion was invested in the largest private US companies. The financial infusions could allow Silicon Valley’s most promising startups to hedge against an industry crash in 2026. The funds, according to venture capitalists and experts, will help shield startups from a drop in investment due to growing market concerns about the high costs of AI infrastructure.

Some investors have advised startups to build up reserves, while enthusiasm about AI’s potential to transform the economy remains high.
