Venezuela is sending its first shipment of oil to Israel in several years after the capture of President Nicolas Maduro by US forces, Bloomberg reported, citing sources.

The cargo is being transported to Bazan Group - the largest crude oil refinery in the Jewish state. The agency also claims that most of the Venezuelan oil has been sold in the past month to buyers in India, Spain and the United States.

On January 3, Washington announced a military operation in Caracas that led to the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife by US forces. On January 5, they appeared in federal court in the Southern District of New York. They are accused of drug trafficking. Maduro and his wife have pleaded not guilty.
