German automaker BMW has instructed its Chinese unit to “categorically oppose any possible export of cars to Russia“, Reuters reported.
At the same time, the Munich-based car company admitted that its cars are still being imported into Russia through parallel imports. “This is happening outside our sphere of influence and is clearly against our will“, the company told the agency.
Most Western automakers stopped supplying their cars to Russia after the war in Ukraine began in March 2022.
