Gas stocks in underground storage facilities (UGS) in France fell below 25% by February 13, which became a historic minimum for this time of year, Gazprom said in a statement.
"On February 13, gas stocks in underground storage facilities in France fell below 25%, according to data from Gas Infrastructure Europe. This is the lowest level of filling of French underground gas storage facilities in history for mid-February. More than 95% of the gas pumped in preparation for the winter has already been taken from French storage facilities," the Russian company said.
"This winter is becoming a landmark for the European gas market. "This is another historic anti-record for the EU gas market," noted Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller, whose words were quoted in the holding's statement.
