Google's legal liabilities in Russia exceed 26 million rubles

They include fines for violating Russian laws, property sanctions imposed on individuals and legal entities, and overdue enforcement fees

The legal debt of the American company Google LLC in Russia for fines and other property sanctions imposed on individuals and legal entities exceeds 26.3 billion rubles, law enforcement agencies reported.

„Currently, the legal liabilities of the American company Google LLC exceed 26.3 billion rubles. This includes primarily fines for violating Russian laws, which were established by Roskomnadzor and Moscow courts, property sanctions imposed on individuals and legal entities, and overdue enforcement fees“, the agency's source said.

According to court and other documents, 58 enforcement proceedings have been initiated against the company.

The first major fine against Google in Russia was imposed on December 11, 2018. Roskomnadzor fined the company for refusing to connect to the state system, which lists websites banned in Russia. The company received the minimum penalty - a fine of 500,000 rubles. The company paid the fine.
