„Kalashnikov“ produces over 10,000 hemostatic tourniquets (ed. note. a medical device designed to stop life-threatening bleeding from the limbs by applying strong pressure that interrupts blood circulation) daily, which are superior in quality to those produced by the American company CAT (Combat Application Tourniquet).
„The current production capacity exceeds 10,000 units per day. And we can fully satisfy the needs of the Ministry of Defense and law enforcement agencies and departments. It is also important to note that we have achieved quality that surpasses even that of their American predecessors, namely the CAT tourniquet, thanks to the use of radiopaque plastic, and significantly improved characteristics in harsh climatic conditions and at sub-zero temperatures“, said Vasily Khudoleev, Director of the Medical Department of the Concern.
Such tourniquets are included in the individual first-aid kit APPI of the Concern “Kalashnikov“. It was first presented in August 2024. It includes an expanded range of hemostatic and dressing materials, as well as several innovative medical products and medications that take into account the statistics and nature of wounds in special operations zones. Among other items, it includes the only third-generation hemostatic bandage in Russia based on kaolin with a radiopaque tape, a promising individual package of bandages and the sublingual analgesic ketorolac, designed to relieve moderate to severe pain.
