The reason is the situation in the Middle East

Half of airlines have suspended flights to Seychelles due to the conflict in the Middle East, said the Minister of Transport, Ports and Civil Aviation of the Seychelles, Veronica Laporte.

„Today we ourselves are facing serious challenges caused by the crisis in the Persian Gulf region. Currently 50% of airlines have suspended flights to our country, because we - or rather the main aviation hub through which connections with the Seychelles are made - used the air corridor over the Persian Gulf region. "Of course, now that the major airlines have stopped operating, it has affected us as well," she noted at the International Transport and Logistics Forum.

The minister said that this is a blow to a country that is heavily dependent on tourism, but is opening up opportunities for economic diversification.
