It is wrong to look for the reasons for the high prices in speculation

Nikolov: If we choose the neighborhood bakery, where we know the merchant, the likelihood that he will lie to us is much smaller

"It is wrong to look for the reasons for the high prices in speculation. They are related to insufficient production. Bulgaria can produce more and better fruits and vegetables, dairy products and meat, but it needs to fix the conditions and regulations in this sector," said Bogomil Nikolov, executive director of the "Active Consumers" Association, quoted by the Bulgarian National Radio.

"We need to look for ways to create a policy that would create conditions for more production".

He believes that cooperation between individual producers could help in the process of selling products.

Nikolov noted in the program "Above All" that the market teaches us and no one can deceive it.

The problem with the cheapest kozunaci is that sometimes this is at the expense of quality, the executive director of the "Active Consumers" Association pointed out.

"They do not contain eggs, but only food coloring".

The consumer is fundamentally at a disadvantage, he said.

"There's no way he can know as much about the product as a retailer or manufacturer. It's almost impossible to guess how many eggs are in a kozunak or whether there's milk or palm oil in the cheese.

If we choose the neighborhood bakery where we know the retailer, the likelihood that he'll lie to us is much lower".
