Germany's largest defense company - Rheinmetall, together with its British partner Kraken Technology, has launched mass production of unmanned boats at the Blohm+Voss shipyard in Hamburg, the company announced on its website.
The Kraken K3 Scout drones, approximately 8.5 meters long, are capable of speeds up to 55 knots. They can be used for both military and civilian purposes. Depending on their configuration, they can be used to patrol maritime areas, protect critical infrastructure or carry weapons for military operations.
The joint venture between the two companies was established in 2025 and is called Rheinmetall Kraken GmbH.
