Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Russian troops have attacked substations in Ukraine that are critical to nuclear safety 155 times.
This was stated by Ukrainian Energy Minister Denys Shmygal at the International Conference in Chernobyl on Recovery and Nuclear Safety, the BBC specified.
"Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has carried out 155 attacks on substations that provide power supply to nuclear power plants.
Each such attack, if successful, poses a risk of emergency shutdowns, disruption of the stable operation of the system and pressure on the safe operation of nuclear units blocks", Shmygal said.
"We insist on strengthening sanctions against the Russian energy sector - including the nuclear sector.
We insist on stricter restrictions on "Rosatom" and on terminating the Russian Federation's membership in the IAEA Board of Governors", Shmygal also said.
