Japan managed to secure its oil supplies until the end of 2026

This is possible thanks to alternative sources of supply of these raw materials

Japan will be able to supply itself with oil - a raw material for the production of many types of plastic, at least until the end of the year, reported Kyodo, citing Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.

At a cabinet meeting on the situation in the Middle East, Takaichi indicated that this would be possible thanks to alternative sources of supply of these raw materials.

At the same time, in early April, the prime minister assured that the country had purchased oil for two months, and its own production capacities would allow it to produce oil for another two months. At the same time, the government has appealed to businesses to start looking for additional sources of these raw materials.

The Gulf crisis has led to a reduction in oil supplies from the Middle East, which in turn has led to a rise in the prices of food packaging and other plastic products in Japan.
