Eng. Kostas Koukoulis from ERM West was awarded the honorary prize "Energy Engineer of the Year" by the Bulgarian Chamber of Energy Engineers.
The award was presented at an official ceremony on June 17 and is a recognition of his exceptional professional contribution, expertise and long-term dedication to the development of the electricity sector.
Eng. Koukoulis has a master's degree in "Electrical Power Engineering and Electrical Equipment" and has over 35 years of professional experience in the company. His career is entirely dedicated to the activities of diagnostics, relay protection and automation - areas of key importance for the reliability and security of the electricity distribution system network.
Since 2007, he has led the team responsible for strategic activities at ERM West, related to diagnostics of power equipment, primary and secondary commutation, as well as settings of relay protection and automation. Under his leadership, preventive activities in the direction of “Diagnostics and RPA“ are developing and expanding through the implementation of innovative methods for diagnostics of power equipment in the distribution network.
Eng. Kukulis is also valuable as a person who transmits knowledge, experience and attitude towards the profession to younger specialists. Over the years, he has contributed to the development of a number of successful power engineers, who today are part of the strong expert potential of the sector.
The “Energy Engineer of the Year“ award is a recognition not only for the personal professional achievements of Eng. Kukulis, but also for the significant role of ERM West experts in maintaining and developing a reliable, secure and modern power distribution network.
