Slovakia and Greece paid the most expensive gas in 2 years

In January, after the transit through Ukraine was stopped, Slovakia paid the maximum price for Russian pipeline gas for the last 2 years, according to Eurostat data. Greece's debt also reached a two-year peak in the first month of the current year.

In January, EU countries imported Russian pipeline gas worth EUR 833 million.

The leaders in purchases are Hungary (EUR 272 million - maximum price for the last 1 year), Slovakia (EUR 250 million - maximum price from November 2022) and Greece (EUR 206 million - maximum price from December 2022). Italy reduced gas imports from Russia three times - to EUR 91 million.
