Trump gives advice to Britain

Urges the Island to abandon wind turbines and focus on oil production

US President Donald Trump has suggested that Britain invest in oil production in the North Sea and abandon renewable energy projects. “Our deal with the UK is a win-win.“ But I strongly advise them to abandon expensive and landscape-destroying wind turbines and, to reduce energy costs, stimulate oil production in the North Sea, where huge oil reserves await them.

There are enough resources there for another 100 years. Aberdeen (the main port in Scotland) could become a hub. “An outdated tax system is discouraging investors from oil production. UK energy prices could fall sharply and quickly!", he wrote on Truth Social.

The US and the UK announced a trade deal on May 8. Among other things, Washington will reduce tariffs on British automotive products from 27.5% to 10%. New rules for importing British goods into the US will come into effect soon.
