In 2024, 15.3 million foreign citizens visited Kazakhstan for tourism purposes, the Committee for the Tourism Industry reported. Of the total number of tourists, 10.4 million people spent more than one day in the country, and the average length of stay was 4 days.
The top 5 countries outside the CIS by the number of arriving tourists are: China, India, Turkey, Germany and South Korea.
China - 655,000 citizens visited Kazakhstan. The significant increase in the flow is due to the introduction of a visa-free regime and the expansion of air traffic, the committee explained.
India - 146,000 tourists. Interest in Kazakhstan is supported by direct flights, a simplified visa regime and the development of tourist routes.
Turkey- 130,000 tourists. The choice of Kazakhstan is influenced by regular air traffic, as well as stable cultural and business ties between the countries.
Germany- 92,000 visitors. Tourists from Germany are attracted by ethnotourism, natural attractions and historical and cultural heritage.
South Korea — 40,000 tourists. The tourist flow shows constant growth. Among the key factors are the availability of direct flights, a simplified visa regime, as well as interest in nature, national cuisine and culture of Kazakhstan.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, inbound tourism in the country continues to grow. If in 2014 The number of foreign tourists staying in official accommodation facilities was 679 thousand people, while in 2024 this figure reached 1.3 million. This is an increase of 190% in a decade.
The positive dynamics show that Kazakhstan is becoming an increasingly attractive destination for international travelers.
