The Chinese government has approved several rare earth export applications, a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said. He was commenting on the number of approved applications after China-US trade talks in London.
“China is a responsible country and we fully consider the reasonable needs and interests of various countries in the civil application of rare earth metals. We also review applications for export licenses for rare earth-related products in accordance with the law,“ said He Yadong. "A certain number of applications have been approved according to the law, and this approval process will continue."
China and the United States will continue to maintain dialogue, reduce misunderstandings, strengthen cooperation, and jointly promote the sustainable and long-term development of trade and economic relations between the two countries.

The China-US trade and economic consultations were held in London on June 9 and 10. US President Donald Trump said that Washington and Beijing were close to reaching a trade agreement, which must be approved by the heads of state. The mechanism for trade and economic consultations between China and the United States was established after negotiations in Geneva. which took place from May 10 to 11. At this meeting, Beijing and Washington agreed to partially reduce mutual tariffs, the amount of which exceeded 100% by May.
