Despite the 17 packages of EU sanctions, Russia increased its exports by almost 20% last year, to around USD 330 billion, reports Der Spiegel magazine, citing a study by the Institute for German Economics in Cologne (IW).

Brazil, Israel and Turkey, as well as EU member Hungary, have begun to receive significantly more Russian goods.

Earlier, the German Federal Statistical Office reported that despite anti-Russian sanctions, EU countries imported oil and gas from Russia in 2024 worth 21.3 billion. EUR, which is 59.1% of all EU imports from Russia.
