The meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council has begun in a narrow format at the Palace of Independence in Minsk. Russian President Vladimir Putin participated in the event.
In addition to the Russian leader and the host of the summit, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, the meeting is attended by the presidents of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan joined the meeting via video link
As previously announced, at the narrow format meeting the leaders of the EAEU countries will be able to address the most sensitive issues of relations between their countries. Then, after the report of the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintayev, a free discussion is expected.
After the meeting in a narrow format, an expanded format meeting is expected, which will be joined by representatives of the observer states - Cuba and Uzbekistan - as well as guest states - Mongolia and the UAE.
