The West cannot give up on Russian energy carriers. Therefore, sanctions are unlikely to have an impact on them. Also, the West will not be able to "cover up" Russian oil supplies. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a press conference after a meeting of the Eurasian Economic Union, which is being held in Minsk.

"We are satisfied with the results of today's meeting", Putin added.

The United States and Russia have good prospects for economic cooperation, the Russian leader commented, adding: "American business is giving signals of a desire to return to the Russian market".

The leaders of the observer states Cuba and Uzbekistan, as well as the guest countries Mongolia and the UAE, joined the leaders of the EAEU countries to participate in the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in an expanded format. Russian President Vladimir Putin also participated in the event.

During the meeting, the leaders of the EAEU countries were joined by members of the delegations. In addition to the speech by the Russian leader and the host of the summit, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, speeches were also made by the presidents of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, as well as Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who joined the meeting via video link.

The presidents of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel and Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev are also scheduled to speak at the meeting. Mongolia's First Deputy Prime Minister Nyam-Osorin Uchral and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan are also expected to speak.

Cuba and Uzbekistan have had observer status in the EAEU since 2020. Mongolia and the UAE are interested in cooperating with the association. They are expected to sign trade agreements with the EAEU after the current summit.
