Microsoft Corporation will cut 9,000 employees in the second wave of layoffs this year, Bloomberg reported.
A company representative said that the changes are “necessary for the company's best positioning“ in the market.
The first wave of layoffs took place in May 2025 and affected at least 6,000 employees, Bloomberg recalls. Another 300 people were laid off in June.
In 2024 The company had about 228,000 employees, with about 55% of them in the United States.
