Shortly after Donald Trump's victory in the presidential election, the American company BlackRock stopped looking for investors for its potential fund, the proceeds of which were supposed to go to the reconstruction of Ukraine, Bloomberg reported, citing sources.

The company initially intended to create a multi-billion dollar fund and announce it at a conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine, which is scheduled to be held in Rome on July 10-11.

BlackRock decided to stop looking for investors back in January, but this became known only now. Investors have lost interest in the project “due to growing uncertainty about the future of Ukraine“. The company told the agency that “it has no current liabilities“ and have no relations with the authorities in Kiev.

Initially, the fund's organizers wanted to raise 15 billion USD. Before the suspension of work, they managed to secure investments of only 500 million USD from individual countries, banks and other structures. Private investors also promised to provide 2 billion USD.
