Kazakhstan and Russia are actively implementing joint industrial projects and expanding cooperation, and now there are 171 of them worth a total of $56 billion. "This is 7-8 times more than planned in 2019," said First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar during the strategic session of the Innoprom-2025 exhibition in Yekaterinburg, which is taking place from July 7 to 10.

„In 2019, Denis Valentinovich (Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister, who at that time held the post of Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation) and I signed a roadmap for the development of industrial cooperation between the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan. “We currently have 171 projects in our portfolio of joint investment projects worth over 56 billion USD“, he said.

Sklyar noted that “this is approximately 7-8 times more“ than planned six years ago. He also recalled that the republic's GDP increased by 4.8% last year, and the processing industry grew by 6% “and is already ahead of the raw materials sector“. “Of course, we are pleased with this. Of course, we achieved such positive results thanks to cooperation with other countries. “I would like to specially note the Russian Federation, the government of the Russian Federation“, said Sklyar.

105 projects worth over 21 billion USD have already been implemented with Russia. According to Sklyar, the goal of the republic's authorities is to produce products with high added value and abandon dependence on raw material supplies, as well as to digitalize industries. “It is impossible to implement these structural changes without active interaction with other countries, with our neighbors. Within the EAEU, we have no customs borders, we should not compete with each other where it is not necessary. There are many free niches that we need to occupy“, said Sklyar.
