Elon Musk's aerospace company SpaceX is investing $2 billion in xAI, the startup that developed the artificial intelligence chatbot Grok, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing investors close to the companies.
The investment is about half of the recent equity increase by the chatbot maker Grok, the publication noted. It is part of a $5 billion capital raise announced in June.
Musk founded the artificial intelligence startup xAI in April 2023. A few months later, the company introduced the artificial intelligence chatbot Grok. The project's creators claim that this product differs from its analogues in the absence of censorship and provides access to relevant information in real time.
