The Government adopted a Decision to approve a draft Agreement between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan on the promotion and mutual protection of investments as a basis for negotiations.
The signing of the agreement is a necessary prerequisite for strengthening the investment activity of Azerbaijani companies in Bulgaria. The document will create the necessary contractual and legal basis for the development of investment cooperation between our countries. Also, with the implementation of the investment agreement, both Bulgarian investors and investments in Azerbaijan will be protected on the basis of modern European standards and a dispute settlement mechanism.
Bulgaria considers Azerbaijan to be an important economic partner and is interested in developing all aspects of the traditionally good relations between the two countries. Bilateral relations are distinguished by their strategic nature, two Declarations of Strategic Partnership have been signed, two sessions have been held, and the third is due to take place at the end of 2025.
