The one who produces chips, not oil, wins

Turkey starts chip production, and in 2026 it should produce 30 million pieces

The first Turkish chip prototypes will appear by the end of this year. They will be produced by the technology company Yongatek Microelectronics plans to produce the first prototypes of chips developed in Turkey by the end of the year.

Initially, 30 million chips will be produced per year. They will be used mainly to meet the needs of the Turkish appliance manufacturer Beko.

The trend is for chip production to increase to 40-50 million chips per year, with the aim of meeting the needs of the Turkish defense industry, robotics and other areas in which the technology in question could be useful.

"Chips will be the defining resource of the 21st century, not oil", said Yongatek General Manager Ali Baran, quoted by the local media „Türkiye Today“. Countries that produce chips will have a significant lead over others in the near future.
