On Wednesday, September 17, „Toplofikatsiya-Sofia“ announced on its website that repairs to 10-kilometer heating pipes will begin on October 2, which is absolutely necessary due to the depreciation of the network built 40 years ago.
Tens of thousands of residents of „Druzhba 2“ have two weeks to prepare for repairs planned to be completed around the New Year holidays, BNR reported.
The company explained that The heat supply will not be stopped for everyone during the entire period, but will be worked on in stages and with an early restoration of the service in the repaired sections.
The district mayor Petko Kraev received an explanation that the repair could not be postponed until next summer:
“The accident is really big. If it is postponed, there will be accidents every week“, he said.
The schedule of the phased repair activities is expected to be announced at the end of September.
