140 acres of mixed and 15 acres of pine forest burned down in the fire above Gornoslav

The extinguishing of single fires in hard-to-reach ravines with almost vertical slopes continued until late last night. The second fire that engulfed a pine forest was completely extinguished

The large forest fire in the area of the village of Gornoslav was brought under control late last night. Five Fire Department teams were on duty throughout the night to monitor whether it would flare up again.

The extinguishing of single fires in hard-to-reach ravines with almost vertical slopes continued until late last night. The second fire that engulfed a pine forest was completely extinguished.

Due to a damaged power line, the power supply to the villages of Oreshets, Vrata and Mostovo was temporarily interrupted. Power has also been restored in the village of Gornoslav, where a wooden electric pole burned down.

According to preliminary data, the fire has affected over 140 acres of mixed forest, low vegetation and arable land, as well as about 15 acres of pine forest. There was no damage to residential and auxiliary buildings in Gornoslav.

This morning, teams and new volunteers will continue to fight the fire. It is assumed that human negligence caused the fire.

Over 12 teams from Asenovgrad, Plovdiv, Parvomay, Stamboliyski, Karlovo, volunteers and foresters participated in extinguishing the fire. At the same time, firefighters from Asenovgrad and Plovdiv extinguished a fire in a residential building in Asenovgrad, from which two adults were rescued.
