Varna residents held the tenth consecutive protest in support of the city's mayor Blagomir Kotsev

Along with the first person in the city, municipal councilors Nikolay Stefanov and Yordan Kateliyev are also in custody

A tenth consecutive protest was held in Varna in support of the city's mayor Blagomir Kotsev and municipal councilors Nikolay Stefanov and Yordan Kateliyev, who are in custody, BNT reported.

The request for Kotsev's release from custody was supposed to be considered on September 18, but a day earlier, the chairman of the court panel, Alexander Zhelyazkov, and his members Atanaska Kitipova and Desislav Lyubomirov, recused themselves. Subsequently, a new court panel was appointed with Venelin Ivanov as chairman, and the measure is scheduled for tomorrow - September 23.

The main demand of the protesters today remains the freedom of the three detainees and an end to the “fusion of the judiciary with political and oligarchic circles in the country”.

The procession started from Red Square, passed through the streets of Varna and stopped at “Independence” Square and the Courthouse. The organizers again extended an official invitation to Boyko Borisov to march with them through the streets of Varna, after he was also ready to wear a T-shirt with the face of Blagomir Kotsev.
