Delyan Peevski called on the municipal councilors of the Sofia Municipal Council (SOC) to stop the decision of Mayor Vasil Terziev to increase parking prices in Sofia. The leader of the MRF described the proposal as "scandalous and outrageous".
"I call on the municipal councilors of the SOC to stop the madness of Mayor Terziev and the outrages of the PP-DB in Sofia!", Peevski said in an official statement.
According to him, instead of improving the infrastructure and creating modern parking conditions, the municipal leadership is looking for a way to increase revenues at the expense of citizens. Peevski pointed out that the proposal envisages parking prices in the "Blue Zone" to increase to 4 leva per hour, and in the "Green Zone" - to 2 leva.
Criticisms of the capital's government
In his statement, Peevski linked this proposal to the recently discussed increase in the price of heating in Sofia by 30%, mentioned in connection with the crisis with hot water in the "Druzhba 2" neighborhood.
"People are not obliged to pay dearly and excessively for the incompetence of the mayor and the lies of the PP-DB", added the chairman of the parliamentary group of the MRF - NEW START.
He criticized the work of the mayor and his team over the past two years, claiming that Sofia is becoming "more and more uncomfortable, dirtier and more and more unwelcoming".
