10 settlements in Montana region are on water regime. The situation is the worst in Georgi Damyanovo and Chiprovtsi.

Five villages in the Georgi Damyanovo municipality, four in the Chiprovtsi municipality and one in the Montana municipality have limited drinking water supply, according to the report of the Regional Health Inspectorate.
In Georgi Damyanovo, the villages of Kopilovtsi, Kamena Riksa, Vidlitsa, Chemish and Diva Slatina are on water supply.
In Chiprovtsi, there are water problems in Ravna, Gorna Luka, Mitrovtsi and Zhelezna.
In these nine villages, water is drawn from surface water sources, which have drastically decreased due to the drought.
Gorna Verenitsa is the only settlement in the Montana municipality. The village was the first in the district to switch to a water regime.
This happened at the end of June.
