Criminal psychologist Rosen Yordanov commented on the tension and fierce verbal attacks between President Rumen Radev and GERB leader Boyko Borisov in the show "Offensive with Lyubo Ognyanov" on NOVA NEWS. According to him, people around Radev are purposefully trying to create a comparison between the two in order to affirm the president's leadership position.
"The only similarity between Radev and Borisov is that both come from institutions, not from traditional politics," said Yordanov, quoted by NOVA. He recalled that the early Borisov managed to establish himself as an extremely popular politician, competing with names such as Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, Georgi Parvanov and Ivan Kostov, while Radev never achieved such influence.
The psychologist made a vivid comparison between the two leaders: "Borisov looks like a martial arts master to me who doesn't want to flaunt his skills, while Radev looks like a boy who has taken 10 training sessions in the gym and is looking for a fight, but always with a gang behind him", he said.
Yordanov noted that Borisov has abandoned the boyish arrogance with which he was known in the past. "Radev, for his part, tries to resemble the young Borisov in his old age," the psychologist explained.
According to the expert, President Radev exhibits outsider behavior and has never demonstrated clear leadership qualities. "He does not participate in interviews, but only makes statements. He is aimed at marginalized groups in society and is trying to become a center for collecting political debris, but he does not seem confident", Yordanov emphasized. He added that the president does not offer a vision for the "good Bulgaria", and his speech is not suitable for either a leader or an adult.
Regarding Borisov's statements, including his metaphor that Bulgaria has five prime ministers, Yordanov felt "slight annoyance and a desire to get away from the same questions in an original way".
The psychologist also commented on the clash in front of the parliament between Delyan Peevski and Asen Vassilev, which he described as a conversation between two children - – "the team of the nerds and the team of the bullies", started by the "nerds". "This rhetoric is not worthy of public behavior", he emphasized.
For the "Continue the Change" party, Yordanov noted that they have long been trying to create a "media Frankenstein", but the main problem remains the question of which moral profile they will accept as their leader.
