A military truck carrying French servicemen crashed in Republic Pass today.
In the incident, which occurred in the area of Mishemorkov Han, two French servicemen received minor injuries, bTV reported.
The military vehicle was part of a convoy traveling to Romania to participate in the NATO exercise "Dacian Fall – 2025". The truck crashed, and the causes of the incident have not yet been specified.
The Ministry of Defense (MOD) had informed a few days ago that French military equipment would be passing through the territory of Bulgaria. According to the official announcement of September 24, personnel and military equipment from the Armed Forces of the Republic of France will pass through the republican road infrastructure in the period September 25 - October 2, 2025.
The route of the military convoys is planned from the "Kapitan Petko Voivoda" border checkpoint to the Ruse border checkpoint. The convoys are escorted by teams of the "Military Police" Service.
According to the announcement of the Ministry of Defense, the exercise "Dacian Fall – 2025" will be held at military training grounds in Romania from October 20 to November 13, 2025. Over 5,000 military personnel from ten Allied countries will participate in it - Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Luxembourg, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Spain.
The exercises are planned by the headquarters of the Multinational Division Southeast, deployed in Romania. The NATO Multinational Battle Group in Bulgaria, with a framework country of Italy, will conduct related exercises at the "Novo Selo" training ground, integrated into "Dacian Fall – 2025".
The transportation of foreign military personnel and equipment through Bulgaria is in accordance with the Law on the passage through and residence on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria of allied and foreign armed forces and the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Bulgaria and the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers of NATO.
