An abandoned car on the tracks slowed down the movement of the Sofia - Silistra train

The car had visible damage and there were no people in it

The passengers on the Sofia - Silistra passenger train arrived at the Silistra railway station with a nearly 90-minute delay. This was announced to BTA by the National Company "Railway Infrastructure" (NCRI) and the Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ).

According to their information, at around 6:00 this morning, workers at the Dulovo station were notified that a car had been abandoned on the tracks, in a place without a railway crossing. The car had visible damage and there were no people in it.

The passengers were transferred to another train. Law enforcement agencies arrived at the scene and the railway management was notified. At the moment, the departure of trains to and from Silistra has been suspended. A team from the Regional Directorate for "Fire Safety and Population Protection" is being awaited to move the vehicle.
