Zhecho Stankov: I requested that the heat supply in "Druzhba" not be stopped simultaneously

The Energy Minister assured that if there are interruptions, they will not exceed 7-10 days

The Minister of Energy Zhecho Stankov stated that he requested that "Toplofikatsiya-Sofia" not simultaneously stop the heat supply to all buildings in the capital's "Druzhba" district. According to him, there will be shutdowns only in places where repairs are actually being carried out, and for a period not exceeding 3 to 7-10 days, indicated "Nova TV".

Minister Stankov participated in a blitz control in the parliamentary Energy Committee, where he answered current questions related to the repairs in the "Druzhba" neighborhood, which could leave thousands of citizens in the cold during the winter months.

The Energy Minister recalled that when he learned about the upcoming shutdown of the heat supply for the period from October 2 to December 30, he sent a letter to the Sofia Municipal Council and the Mayor of Sofia Vasil Terziev, who are the principals of "Toplofikatsiya". “In it, I expressed my disagreement with such an approach, because the normal decision on the part of the Sofia Municipality would be to carry out these repairs between March and October, when we are outside the heating season“, he added.

Minister Stankov emphasized that there is no way that the heat supply can be interrupted for 90 days. On this issue, he has found an understanding with “Toplofikatsiya“. “A detailed schedule has been drawn up, which I requested from the company's executive director yesterday, and he fully supported this approach - to work first in educational institutions, schools and kindergartens, so that before the heating season we can be 100% sure that there will be no problem with the heat supply“, he said. The minister added that this will give young families in the complex certainty that they will not have to be absent from work to look after their children.

With regard to the replacement of the network deviations to residential buildings, according to an analysis by the Ministry of Energy, over 120 buildings will be affected.

„The task that I have set for my team with an explicit order is to exercise continuous control and maintain constant communication with the teams of „Toplofikatsiya“ on site, so that we can have an account of how they are moving within the deadlines“, said Minister Zhecho Stankov.

He added that he is also in contact with the KEVR, so that in the coming years the principal will not be allowed to start the repairs so late and the households will have peace of mind.
