The traffic of all types of vehicles through the Petrohan Pass - road II-81 has been temporarily restricted, for the removal of fallen trees and branches and snow removal. Branches and trees have been broken by the heavy snow. Currently, teams from the road maintenance company and the Regional Road Administration - Montana are working on the field. The pavement is being processed by 9 machines. The traffic of all vehicles has been redirected to road I-1 Sofia - Vidin.
For snow removal, traffic in both directions on the Hemus Motorway has been temporarily restricted for heavy trucks over 12 tons in the section in Sofia region, as well as for passenger cars traveling to Sofia. The route is being processed by 14 machines. The vehicles are waiting on site until the processing of the pavement is completed.
To remove fallen trees, the movement of all vehicles has been stopped on the third-class road III-162 Lakatnik - Dolna Bela Rechka in the Montana and Sofia regions.
The regional road departments and road maintenance companies are monitoring the weather forecasts and taking the necessary actions to process the pavements in the high-mountainous regions, where at low temperatures and precipitation there are prerequisites for slipperiness and icing, especially early in the morning.
The “Road Infrastructure” Agency appeals to drivers who are about to travel to set off with cars with suitable tires, to drive carefully, at a reasonable speed and without risky overtaking.
